Back in 2007, Editora Abril, for decades Brazil's most influential magazine publisher, launched Planeta Sustentável. The project aimed to educate and inspire a wide audience about sustainability through a holistic approach that spanned more than 40 of the company's magazine titles. By combining in-depth articles, news, events, and public talks, it encouraged sustainable lifestyles and fostered a culture of environmental awareness.

I had the pleasure of designing the logo and initial visual identity for Planeta Sustentável. Symbolizing legacy and care for future generations, the design integrates leaves shaped like Editora Abril's tree logo, connecting the project's sustainability mission to the company's identity and values.

One key initiative within the project was the annual Planeta no Parque event, which brought communities together with cultural activities for adults and children. For the sponsor's Achievements Report Brochure, a material produced afterward, I embraced the project's values by creating four unique covers from upcycled canvas banners used during the event, with handmade bookbiding. The decorative stars were crafted from reused pages of Recreio, Editora Abril's children's magazine.

These design choices allowed the creations itself to embody the spirit of sustainability, showcasing how creativity and environmental responsibility can work hand in hand.

I'm very proud to have been part of a project that made a lasting contribuition to raising awareness of sustainability in Brazil, at a time when these issues were far less mainstream than they are today. 🌿
